| My roommate wants to play a 1 on 1 with me, and she came up with the idea to dual one of the abovementioned class combinations. I'm not quite sure how it would work out, as I'm relatively new to 3.5. I told her it would lose her a lot of spells, and it may not be the best idea based on schematics and what I've heard about dualing caster classes. She says it would be better for her to have 10 magic missiles than a few magic missiles and a cat's grace or something as far as the sorc/wiz class goes. She'd have an NPC with her filling up a much needed slot, and I would let her run and build it mostly. If she goes with any of these, I'd throw in a meat shield of sorts. But currently, I'm thinking it would be really weak to have that low sneak damage and very little spells. Spreading too thin for a 2 person game? What do you all think? I'm not saying she can't play it, I was just wondering if it would be the best idea for 2 people. Oh, and the original intent was to throw a rogue and a wizard together and make it mostly non-combat, and that's still not out of the question (the non-combat option) but if I put in a monster, I don't want it to be kobolds or something. Again, I'm not the most experienced DM in the world, nor do I obviously claim to be. I just wanted some advice from experience rather than what "looks bad to me". Thanks all. | |

| I didn't think it would be horrible, but with only one other player, having severely limited spells seemed like it would hurt kind of, as well as giving up the great class features the rogue levels would give for a couple iffy-low damage spells. Have you tried it out with low amount of players to backup? Did it work at all? | |

Unearthed, but I'm not sure that I really get the gestalt option. It's an interesting option, however. She settled on warlock though, but I'm still curious as to input still.

Yes, however, there may be an NPC or a 2nd character she ends up controlling.
