| The Only Thing I Know Is That Greyhawk Is The "Default" Campaign Setting/Game World For D&D 3.5 ( The Only Way WotC Could Save a Forgettable World...). Speaking Of Dragonlance...Why They Killed It,I Will Never Understand Nor Forgive Them. | |

| I Was Nevere Into The Whole Pirate Thing.
To Me,Making It The Default World For D&D Was WotC's Way Of Keeping a Dull Campaign Setting Alive. There Are So Many Better Ones...cough DragonLance...cough...

| Dragonlance rules supreme I was also never into the Greyhawk world....For me Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance and Dark Sun were the locations of choice. (and seeing as i was always the DM i had choice of worlds :) ) | |

| The wiki link should explain it better, but I'll sum it up (very briefly)
Greyhawk was Gary Gygax campaign setting, begun circa 1972. It became the "official" first edition setting (circa 1978 IIRC). It is considered as THE classic med-fan setting. (For the real noobs here, Gary Gygax is the guy who invented dungeons and dragons). The setting was dropped in 1986 when GG "left" TSR. It made a little come-back at the end of 2nd edition, and with the "living greyhawk" campaign. It's not supported anymore in third edition, except in the forthcoming "expedition to the ruins of Greyhawk" adventure, due out in August. The Greyhawk setting MAY make a come back if this book is IMMENSELY successful...
