| Ok you are just getting into the madness, you picked a faction and now must decide what will be the first miniature you will obtain. For me since I play LE, it would be the Pit Fiend. Sorry but I like everything about it. | |

| That's a pretty tough question. It's hard to answer from a purely skirmish standpoint, because I base my opinions of minis on both RPG and skirmish utility, not to mention appearance.
Currently, I would almost give an arm and a leg to get an Elf Pyromancer, but that's because they're out of print and in high demand.
If I was just starting out, and availability was not an issue, I would probably have to get a Clay Golem.
I dunno why, but I love that mini. I used to play it all the time.

| I could never decide on one first and must have for RPG, there are so many, but as a die hard LE skirmish fan, I would have to say the Duergar Champ. | |

| I definitly have to choose Inspiring Marshal. I have always been a CG player and he seems to make it into a lot of my warbands. |

| Oh and for the answer, well, I don't skirmish so I can only answe for rpg purposes. Difficult to choose one. Right now i would say horned devil. One of the coolest minis ever done, and useful in any campaign (a bit high level, of course). | |

| Although it's not a "must have", I'm still very keen to get my hands on a Behir. I think it's just spiffy. |

| Beholder! I mean the older one. Still waiting for a well-balanced, well-costed undead to pair it to (if only Lord Soth's attack bonuses were higher ), but when they do finally make one, the Beholder will rule! |

I think the LRD is an amazingly good sculpt, especially seeing how early it is. Although it is a "rearing" dragon. |

| Well, considering I "championed" it on enough sites, I'd have to go with Werewolf Lord. I'm a little disappointed in the way it looks (the tail is the same size as the HAR and GoL Werewolf's), and I would have liked it to be a bit less effective in Skirmish (so I could pick them up cheap). But I'm very glad it's here! | |

| The werewolf lord is very nice, but the size creep bothers me a bit. it's almost the size of a Glabrezu mini, which is just wrong. |

| I would agree with Rack, the thing is huge. Is WOTC trying to make the minis into action figures? | |

Is it that costly ? In my fave online FLGS, it's quite cheap (for a rare). Far cheaper than beholder lich and both dragons.

| I was just looking at values (according to madda's list) and the Werewolf Lord was listed at over $20 US. Even some of the cheaper ebay stores are listing it at near $15 US--better than some places charge for Dragons!
Part of it comes from it being the heir apparent to the Eye of Gruumsh as far as it being a front-line commander. That's going to boost the value a bit.
I don't know that it will keep the value, but it's there for right now.
