I'd forgotten that those pics were blurry. The pre-metallic red and wash ones are sharper.

That's just a metallic red and, bronze or brass--probably brass.

I use Folk Art for my paints. I'm not nearly good enough to spend money on Reapers, etc...I figure if I can get a look I'm satisfied with for about $1 a pot and it's twice (or more) the size of a Reaper, I'm doing pretty well.

I dig it. You should put some plastic gems on it (or another similar) and make it a gem scarab/beetle from MM5, that would be most cool. I'm very close to that myself Very Happy

I'm not quite ready to go for converting minis. It took me so long to just work up to painting some of them!

Besides, I still have dozens of Chainmail figures in need of attention and half-a-dozen repaints started that have yet to be finished.
