My Ooze Empty
PostSubject: My Ooze   My Ooze EmptyWed Aug 15, 2007 12:17 am

I decided I'm going to make my own ooze. Let me know what you guys think. It's still a work in process, but it'll be finished within a few days if all goes well.

Tools involved: (Fancy, I know)
My Ooze ProjectandMisc008
That's graystuff, and a knife, if you couldn't tell.

Started out making a couple. They looked OK:
My Ooze ProjectandMisc011
My Ooze ProjectandMisc010
Then I realised they weren't nearly big enough. I was just going to put a little lump on there, leave it gray, and call it my gray ooze, but I'm going to work with it a bit more:
My Ooze ProjectandMisc013
My Ooze ProjectandMisc012

OK, I know it's not the best, but it's better than the gray ooze wizards gave us Very Happy I forgot to take a pic of the base, but I took a celestial giant owl off its base and left the peg on for the ooze to grab on to. I tried going for either a rearing up to slam, or worming its way across the floor rather than scuttling (if you don't know what I mean, it'll be too hard to explain :)). Moving like a wave, kind of. I'm waiting for it to harden now so I can put a little over it to smooth it out and shape it a little better, then I'm going to primer it and paint the sucker up hardxcore. Comments?

It does look nice...

Is there any way for you to trim the pics down a bit, ZERO? Those are pretty good sized.

I use just normal candle wax and let it drip over top of something to stop the brittlness. Like I used a couple peanuts from packing as a blood ooze and dripped red wax over top of them which I had glued on GW bases.

OK, no update tonight. I started painting it this morning, and was planning on photographing my process, but damned if I didn't drop it and break it before I could take pics. I'll start back up the process when I can get ahold of a friend's camera or maybe buy another one Sad Wish me luck!

Awesome, I found a camera I can use!! Currently all I've done is wash it black, and put a couple layers of gray over it. Next step, drybrushing!! I'll have pics up as soon as humanly possible. Hope to see some better oozes pop up on geeked. Next stop after the Gray, Green Slime! I'll put up my process again, in case there's something someone likes about it and would like to try to do the same way I did. Though, that's unlikely haha.
